River Falls Youth Hockey Association

The U12 BlackCats defeated Eau Claire/Altoona Jr. Stars in Baldwin Sunday Morning 5-0 and then moved on to defeat the Coulee Region (Onalaska Area) squad 4-3 at Altoona.  The BlackCats overcame lots of adversity with 2 kids missing the games from illness and others just coming back from the flu and still weak.  The team held on and accomplished what they set out to do. 

MAHA - District 8 U12B Standings 2009-2010

The U12 BlackCats played another great tournament and finished in 2nd place, this time at the 7 Team Chippewa Falls Thunder Classic.  The BlackCats defeated Rochester in the first game 5-0 before takiing a 4-0 loss to the Prior Lake/Savage U12A Team.  Because of points the BlackCats were placed in the top bracket and still had a chance to win it all.  In the semi final against a very strong team from St. Francis, Minnesota, the Cats found themselves in a 4-1 hole but they were playing a terrific game.  They kept fighting and tallied the score 4-3 by the end of the 2nd Period.  The Cats then put up a hard fought 3rd period and scored a goal to make it 4-4.  The game went into a 4 on 4 overtime and the Cats prevailed with an exciting 5-4 win and another chance to play the team from Prior Lake Savage.  We gave them a great fight losing 2-0 in the final.  Great weekend for the girls. 

The BlackCats first defeated Winona, MN and then went on to defeat Stevens Point/Wisconsin Rapids (Central Starz) in a scoring battle 9-6 to make it to the championship.  The Cats fell to a very skilled and undefeated team from Tartan-North St. Paul 3-1 on Sunday afternoon in the Championship Game.  Tartan is the #1 Ranked U12B team in Minnesota.  The game was 2-1 with minutes left and many chances were had,  a great game for all involved and a great tournament held by Baldwin's Balckhawk Hockey Association.
