The U14 BlackCats defeated the Green Bay Bobcats U16 Team on Sunday, March 15 to capture the U14/U16 Girls State Championship in Baldwin at the United Civic Center.
The U14 team entered the tournament as the host team from Baldwin as requested by WAHA and went on a surprising run defeating U16 Teams from Kenosha (5-0) and then Marinette-Menomonee (3-0) before taking out Green Bay in an awesome game featuring 4 overtimes, 95 total shots on goal during the game and a final score of 1-0. Meg Shafer buried the only goal of the game midway through the 4th overtime with assists from Kelsey Keusel and Sally Cranston.
Kalli Armagost had an impressive 3 shut outs in the tournament and the team played extremely well.
